A Trip To Perth

Today, John’s got a yarn to share with you, so you get a laugh, and find out some things about one of his journeys through the Aussie outback. In Oz if you travel by car train or bus, from Adelaide in South Australia to to Perth in Western Australia (WA), you’ll cover about 1,800 miles.

For a great deal of the time, you’ll be driving across the Nullabor Plain (Nullabor is Aboriginal for “no trees”).

In the 70s, the band I was in at the time did the trip in a 4 Ton Ford Truck, and it took us 3 days.   More about  Aussie Experiences

Good Vibrations

This is another yarn from John – about having wings:-) I reckon it was in the summer of 82, I’d only been back from Sydney for a couple of months and was living in ahouse about 5 minutes from the beach. I’d nicknamed the house the Grotto. (please don’t ask me why) ( ok, I give in, I’ll tell you why ) The kitchen was built onto the house years later and one of the kitchen walls was originally the outside wall of the house.  More about  Good Vibrations

Goals and Determination

This is a story about having a goal, determination and intestinal fortitude.(ok, guts ) When I was in grade 6 we lived in a small town called Barmera, on the edge of Lake Bonney in the Riverland. (famous for grapes and oranges) We had a dog called Shadow, a turtle called Speedy and my best friend was an Aboriginal kid called Brian.   More about Goals and Determination
