How It Was Traditionally Done
Traditionally, you would join an MLM Business opportunity and get started with your marketing, leading with the product or the opportunity, or both. It was unusual for a network marketer to research their market before starting. Also, it was difficult to do research offline, whereas on the internet, it is very easy to do the research. It’s also very important to do the research first, so you can target people who are actually looking for your product or your opportunity.
1. RESEARCH THE MARKET
Market research within your existing market segment is most important, to find out what kind of things the market is actually wanting. For example, if you are in a company that sells nutritional dog food, you will discover what people are searching for when they look for nutritional dog food. If you’re in a company that sells healthy energy drinks, you will discover what people are searching for when they are looking online for healthy energy drinks.
If you are looking for business builders in your company, you will discover what someone types into Google (or another search engine) when they are searching for a particular business. They might be looking for a “dog food business” or they might be searching on “MLM healthy energy drinks”. You are going to save a lot of time and money by doing market research, so that you can eliminate stuff that will never work. You may even find that the company you’re with now, is not suited to internet marketing because there are not many people looking online for your company’s product.
Now, if you’re new to an MLM opportunity, or you are looking for a different company to work with, you can research within the market that interests you, and find a profitable market where you really want to work. Some of the tools you can use on the internet make it really fast and easy to do your research.
2. GET VISITORS TO YOUR WEBSITE
If there is no traffic coming to your site, it doesn’t matter if you have the best product or opportunity available, you’re not going to sell anything. Traffic is the most crucial part in the process, so long as it’s done after the research. After doing your market research, you’ll know if you can get traffic to your internet network marketing business, and this is very exciting. And, you should be able to get that traffic for free, or at a very inexpensive price.
3. BUILD A RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR VISITORS
This is where you allow the visitors to get to know you or your product, so they can make a decision about joining the business themselves or buying the product. This is where your system turns into money, so you can have a real internet network marketing business. And, you can make money while you test the whole system. Many of your visitors will join your business while you’re testing. The same with people looking for your products – many will convert to customers.
